For the print products I looked at three case studies as my inspiration, these were, Adele 25, The Chainsmoker’s Collage and Taylor Swifts 1989.
For my front I used the 25 album as my main inspiration. As it had a very minimalistic look with a monochromatic image of the artist. I used a similar photo of the a close up of the artist looking directly at the camera, this creates a serious look showing the audience how hurt she is, furthermore her expression is not very happy emphasising this sadness. In addition, the colours in the background look similar to the burred car headlights that was used for the music video, this again links all the pieces together showing they are part of one album.
For the back cover I took inspiration again from the 25 album where she is at an angle. This was chosen as it looks simple to keep the theme going, I also carried my design from the front over to the back cover in order to keep the design consistent, in order to keep the CD professional looking as well as clearly showing that the front and back are one piece rather than separate.
Inspiration for the CD was taken mostly from Adele as her one only included the name of the album, I followed a very similar structure, whilst only adding the name of the Album I also added in the blurred light effect to the CD so that the CD and the music video tie together again showing consistency. Furthermore, the insert for the CD was a simple picture of the model standing next to lights, again to keeping the theme simple and consistent.
For the spine, I did not take any inspiration as most spines in the media music industry follow a simple conventional look, the name of the artist and album and a CD logo, doing this keeps a simple design.
For the advertisement poster, I used the same design as the front cover, this was done in order to keep a consistent look for the album, and taking inspiration from Adele’s 25 album where she used the same image for the CD and the Advert. I included a few reviews of the album as well as places where the CD could be bought or downloaded at the bottom.
The photo book was made as an addition to the CD as an insert. This photo book includes various images of the artist from different locations again to show the journey she went on, as well as including the lyrics of the song.
For our branding we used HMV as our store that would sell a hard copy, with a copy that can be downloaded from apple music as google music. We also included a bar code which would be scanned on purchase of the physical copy. As well as a record label copyright information making the CD look more professional.
